To provide new insights and scientific exchanges on sepsis in older populations, including:
• Current views on the pathogenesis of sepsis and specificities in older populations.
• Specific outcomes, clinical presentations in older populations and clinical relevance of these specificities.
• Special aspects in the diagnosis, prognosis and management of sepsis and severe infection in older populations.
• Specificities of the impact of old viruses (Influenza) but also of newer viruses (respiratory and emerging arboviruses).
• The next challenges regarding prevention of infection.
• New and old vaccines.
• The research agenda for the coming decade.
Up to 40 infectious diseases specialists, geriatricians, public health specialists, microbiologists, epidemiologists, postgraduate students and other specialties interested in all aspects of sepsis occurring in older populations.
